Arrive in Jordan's capital and settle in; gentle orientation and an early night.

Day 3: Amman, Mount Nebo & Madaba
The Citadel of Amman, then Mount Nebo where Moses looked over the Promised Land he would not enter, and Madaba with its 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land. A Scripture-rich day.

Day 4: Bethany-beyond-the-Jordan
The baptism site on the Jordan River where John baptised Jesus — recently excavated churches and the riverbank itself. A profoundly moving morning; allow time at the water.

Day 5: Jerash & the Desert Castles
The spectacular Roman city of Jerash (a half day among colonnaded streets and theatres) and, if time allows, a desert castle — context for the world of the early Church.
Midday prayer among the ruins; reflection on the spread of the Gospel.
Day 6: Journey to Petra via the King's Highway
Travel south along the ancient King's Highway through dramatic landscapes toward Petra, with stops at Shobak or Dana. Arrive ready for the great day to come.
Read the wilderness Psalms en route; evening prayer.
Day 7: Petra
A full day in the rose-red Nabataean city: the walk through the Siq to the Treasury, the Royal Tombs, and the climb to the Monastery for those able (the site rewards a whole day; pace and hydrate).
Quiet gratitude amid Petra's grandeur; evening thanksgiving service.
Day 8: Wadi Rum & depart
A morning jeep experience in the desert of Wadi Rum — Lawrence's desert and a landscape of Scripture's wilderness — before transferring to Amman or Aqaba for departure.
Desert reflection and closing blessing before the journey home.
