Day 1: Depart home country
Flight toward Krakow. Begin reading St Faustina's Diary and the life of Karol Wojtyła.
Opening commissioning prayer at the gate.
Day 2: Arrive Krakow
Arrive and settle in; gentle orientation of the old royal city. Early night.
Opening Mass / devotional service.
Day 3: Divine Mercy Sanctuary, Łagiewniki
The shrine of Divine Mercy: the convent where St Faustina lived and died, her tomb and the original image, and the great modern basilica. The neighbouring St John Paul II Sanctuary. Allow a full, prayerful day.
Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3 p.m. before the original image; Mass at the sanctuary.
Day 4: Wadowice & Kalwaria Zebrzydowska
Wadowice, the birthplace of John Paul II, with the family home and parish church, and the hillside pilgrimage park of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska he loved as a boy. A gentle, biographical day.
Mass in John Paul II's home parish; walk a section of the Kalwaria paths in prayer.
Day 5: Auschwitz-Birkenau
A solemn day at the memorial and former camp, including the cell of St Maximilian Kolbe, who gave his life for another prisoner. Allow a full guided visit; it is heavy but important.
Prayer and silence in St Maximilian Kolbe's cell; reflection on witness and forgiveness.
Day 6: Krakow city & Wawel
The old city of Krakow: Wawel Cathedral where Wojtyła was archbishop, the great Market Square, St Mary's Basilica with its carved altarpiece, and the Wojtyła sites of his student years.
Mass at Wawel Cathedral; personal prayer in St Mary's Basilica.
Day 7: Krakow to Częstochowa
Travel north to Częstochowa and the monastery of Jasna Góra — Poland's holiest site — to venerate the Black Madonna. Time the visit for the ceremonial unveiling of the icon.
Mass before the Black Madonna; pray as the icon is unveiled.
Day 8: Częstochowa & return
A fuller morning at Jasna Góra — the basilica, treasury and ramparts — before returning south. Time for final devotions.
Pray the rosary on the Jasna Góra ramparts; evening thanksgiving service.
Day 9: Depart from Krakow
A final morning before the transfer to the airport and the journey home.
Closing Mass and a blessing for the road home.
