"The holiest site in Christianity"

About Church of the Holy Sepulchre

Built over Golgotha (Calvary) — where Christ was crucified — and the nearby tomb where He was buried and rose again, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is venerated as the most sacred site in Christianity. First built by Emperor Constantine in 335 AD, the current structure dates largely from the Crusader period. It is shared by six Christian denominations under a unique arrangement of holy spaces.
